Red Scarf III

Last scarf, I promise!

I knit these scarves for the Red Scarf Project sponsored by the OFA (Orphans Foundation of America). Each year the OFA sends a Valentines Day care package to kids that have left the system and gotten into college. These folks don't have family back home to send them homemade cookies and extra socks so the OFA sends them a box each year on Valentines day. Knitters across the US make scarves to include in these packages and these are three of those scarves.

This scarf is knit in worsted weight acrylic that is self patterning. I used just plain stockinette stitch with a garter edging. The darn thing curled badly so I pressed it out, following my mom's advice.

I shot this using a Lensbaby and I have a reflector camera right filling in the deep shadows created by the sun streaming in my kitchen windows.
